Abstract

This study aims to find out how the use of demonstration methods can improve the learning achievement of Fiqh materials for class VII B students of SMP Negeri 1 Pacitan. As a source of data, the selected research subjects were Grade VII B students of SMP Negeri 1 Pacitan in semester 1 of the 2019/2020 academic year as many as 32 students. Class VII B was chosen as the research subject because of the heterogeneous ability of the students. The data collection method uses observation and test techniques. Data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis and calculation of students' conceptualization of the material being studied. The results of the study found that the application of demonstration methods in fiqh learning aspects of tayamum and ablution materials can improve student learning achievement. Students more easily understand the material with hands-on practice. Before using the demonstration method, the average learning achievement was 56 aspects of knowledge, 61 skills, and mastery learning was only 31,25%. In the first cycle of knowledge aspects 68, skills 68, mastery learning 50,00% and in the second cycle increased to 86 knowledge and 88 skills with mastery learning reached 100%.
